Getting started with Vagrant
This session will cover some Vagrant basics:
- background
- what is Vagrant?
- why use Vagrant?
As well as how to use it for (Drupal) development:
- ways of setting up (provisioning) a LAMP stack
- shell provisioning of LAMP stack
- project specific 'provisioning' (setup automation)
And will touch on some options for using Vagrant in teams:
- managing Vagrant for multiple projects
- provisioning with Puppet
- packaging
Focal point of the session is to provide some basics to take home so you can start using Vagrant as a development tool, without spending hours tweaking a xAMP stack to run a project.
